9.30am, Wednesday 26th June
Balwyn Baptist Church, 517 Whitehorse Road, Balwyn (Melway 46 F8)
My sincere thanks to Keith Lewis for baking the home-made scones and for providing the jam and cream to go with them for morning tea at our May meeting. My thanks also for his great presentation on the history and “Last Night” of the British Promenade Concerts – “The Proms”. Thanks also to Barry Johnson who described the layout of the Royal Albert Hall – its size, architecture, etc., which added to the morning.
Our June meeting is called “Hooked On Classics”.
It will feature some of the world’s most popular and best-known classical music performed by first-rate musicians – from overtures to famous concert pieces to operatic arias. I have asked Max Caldwell to help me choose the program, and I am sure you will know most, if not all, of the pieces we have selected.
The meeting will be held, as usual, at the Balwyn Baptist Church, 517 Whitehorse Road Balwyn (Melway 46 F8) on Wednesday 26th June. It will commence at 9.30am.
All music lovers – be they members, particularly newer members, partners, or friends – are most welcome to join us.
