Walking Group

10.00am, Wednesday 10th July

Balwyn Baptist Church, 517 Whitehorse Road Balwyn (Melway 46 F8)

Unfortunately our June walk was again cancelled due to rain (but our gardens did appreciate the soaking).   This walk is now re-scheduled for August.

Andrew Diver has kindly offered to lead our walk today, when we will walk in Hartwell, Glen Iris and Ashburton.  We will meet at the  church and pool cars for the short drive to our starting point at Hartwell Reserve, Beryl Street, Burwood (Melway 60 E7).  Departure from there will be some time after 10:15am.  This is the same starting point we have used for other walks this year but we will be taking another completely different direction.  Some of you may find it more convenient to go directly to Hartwell Reserve so please let Andrew know if you intend to do that.   From Hartwell Reserve, we head west to cross the Alamein train line, and then walk through several nice parks before reaching the Gardiners Creek Trail.  After a short distance along the trail we then head east towards Ashburton Station, from where we will catch a train back to Burwood Station, which is just a short walk back to our cars.  Bring your Myki.  The walk is mostly flat on well-defined paths.   Along the way we will have lunch at one of the many local cafés.

As always, all members, visitors and wives/partners are welcome.
